Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through proximity and interaction. People under the age of 65 who have a disability and extensive needs for support and assistance can apply for personal assistance. A personal assistant helps someone with basic needs, such as eating, dressing, washing and communicating. The assistance is individually adapted and aims to increase the opportunities for people with disabilities to live an independent life. We are now looking for a personal assistant for a female user in her 40s with Down syndrome living in Umedalen. Your work tasks You will support and assist the user with help in their everyday life. You will mainly work in the user's home, but also in other places where the user is in their everyday life. You will work in the user's home but also accompany them to activities, swimming, physiotherapy and daily activities. You will help and support with household chores. It is important that you are sensitive to the user's wishes and needs. You help to create order and tidiness by maintaining good routines. About you We are looking for you with experience working with people with intellectual disabilities or elderly care. We would like to see that you are trained in care and/or have experience with Down syndrome and autism. Since you accompany the user to the bath, it is a requirement that you are able to swim. In order for you to be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, write and take part in care documentation and obtain medication, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Your encounter with the user requires you to have good judgment and personal maturity. You are responsive, respectful and calm. We also expect you to be independent and able to take your own initiatives. The personal chemistry between you and the user is important. Welcome with your application!
