The Urban Development Administration manages and develops Umeå into a safe, sustainable and attractive community. The result of our activities must provide the greatest possible value for Umeå's residents and business community. We are a customer and process-oriented organization with four departments: Building Permits, Surveying, Environmental and Health Protection and Detailed Planning. The main task of the Detailed Planning Department is to take care of physical planning through detailed plans, district reviews and area regulations. Our goal is to contribute to a safe, secure and long-term sustainable society with good living environments. We will also promote a good building culture and a good urban and landscape environment. Duties and responsibilities As a plan architect, you are responsible for your own planning assignments and various projects. You project manage the plans throughout the planning process, from vision to plan proposal. The work involves working with both internal and external partners to produce sketches, studies and planning documents. You hold consultations with both stakeholders and the general public and provide advice and information on planning issues to the business community, developers, other municipal sectors, municipal residents and present cases to politicians in the Building Committee. We are looking for people who Have an academic degree in spatial planning, architecture or other higher education that the employer considers relevant to the position or work experience that is considered equivalent. It is advantageous that you have experience in planning and urban development and have good knowledge of project management. We attach great importance to your personal qualities. An important part of your work is to interact with both internal and external partners in planning issues, we therefore see that you are responsive and service-oriented, act in a trustworthy manner and have good collaboration skills. As you are the driving force in the work of developing plans, you are also required to be independent, have good analytical skills and be able to weigh up different perspectives and then make your own decisions.
