The Umeå Region Fire Brigade includes Umeå, Vindeln and Robertsfors municipalities. We work with preventive fire protection and rescue services for about 140,000 people in one of the most expansive parts of Sweden. The fire brigade has a full-time station in central Umeå with about 80 employees and nine RiB stations with about 150 firefighters on standby as well as two fire brigades. We are also building another full-time station in Umeå, which is expected to be completed in 2027, and in connection with this we will also grow in the number of employees. Together with 16 other municipalities in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, we are part of the joint rescue management system Räddningssamverkan Nord. Municipal rescue services are an essential part of civil preparedness and also need to function in the event of major disruptions to society, heightened alert and war. Umeå has been appointed host municipality for the rescue services in Västerbotten County, to coordinate the work of civilian duty and rescue services during high alert (RUHB) together with MSB. Now we need to strengthen with a preparedness coordinator who works with this area and therefore we are looking for you who are interested in an exciting and varied work at the fire defense! Your tasks You will mainly work in the area of rescue services during heightened alert (RUHB), including the fire service's continuity planning, security protection and preparations for societal disruptions, heightened alert and war. You will be involved in the fire service's planning when establishing a war organization, but also planning for peacetime crises. In your work, you will be an important link to the municipality's other activities and other collaborating actors such as the county administrative board, the defense force and other municipal and state authorities. You will mainly work office hours, where you will manage, develop and follow up your work areas and the tasks for which you are responsible. As parts of the working hours can be carried out remotely, opportunities open up for those who want to be resident elsewhere than in Umeå's immediate area. Depending on your conditions and opportunities, it may eventually be possible to combine the work with other suitable tasks within the fire service's area of activity. About you We are looking for you with great commitment and drive, and with a desire to develop and improve our operations. Some of the qualities we value highly are that you are proactive and responsible, structured and educational. You have a suitable university or college degree in social sciences, political science, risk management, crisis preparedness, public safety or other experience/education that the employer considers relevant to the task. Experience of working with security protection, continuity management or information security is an advantage. It is also positive if you have experience in the field of civil protection, but this is not a requirement. You must have a B driving license. Great importance will be attached to personal qualities.
