The Upper Secondary School and Adult Education Board is responsible for the municipality's obligations under school legislation for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, special education for adults and Swedish education for immigrants. The board is also responsible for vocational rehabilitation and for municipal refugee reception. Forslundagymnasiet is located about 5 km west of central Umeå and is a modern agricultural high school that focuses on sustainable agriculture and has highly qualified teachers. The school offers a Natural Farming Program, a Construction Program and Adapted Upper Secondary School with two specializations. In addition, we have three vocational college programs in the field. Forslunda's educational philosophy is that students in the vocational programs should do things "for real". Therefore, we run our own production farm with barn animals, a stable with 8 trotting horses and we also have other animals that you can find in the zoological trade. We also run a farm shop and there are gardens and greenhouses. Next to the school is the Hippologum, one of Sweden's largest riding facilities, where riding takes place. We are now looking for a principal for our agricultural high school Forslunda. Welcome to apply! Your work tasks As principal, you are responsible for all of Forslunda's activities. In addition to responsibility for students, staff and educational programs, this also means overall responsibility for the facility and the operation of the farm. You will be assisted by two deputy headmasters and a farm manager/operations manager. You lead a management team where you together lead Forslundagymnasiet towards set goals. Examples of tasks that may occur in the headmaster assignment are: quality assurance of teaching student health work staff management staff planning, recruitment and rehabilitation performance and salary reviews systematic work environment management Since the school runs the facility itself, the work involves, in addition to the usual principal's assignment, a lot of tasks related to the operation of the farm and the facility. This means, for example, financial follow-up of farming and construction projects and supervision of properties. Collaboration with other actors will also be a big part of your time as many projects are run together with other actors, both private and municipal: Umeå municipality's production of plants is located at Forslunda and therefore collaboration with the city garden is important. We also collaborate with Hippologum regarding our horse training programs. Finally, the Higher Vocational Education programs involve a lot of collaboration. About you We are looking for you who have a higher education in education, preferably with a focus on later years / upper secondary school. We want you to have experience as an assistant principal or principal, preferably in secondary education. If you also have experience of adapted upper secondary school, it is positive. We are looking for you who are passionate about the principal assignment but also have an interest in the green industry / agriculture. You must also be interested in collaborating with the business community and other actors/stakeholders in the green industry. You have a clear vision for the school and can inspire and engage staff, students and parents to work towards common goals. You are a good relationship builder, fostering good relations with staff, students and parents. You actively contribute to cooperation and collaboration within the management team to which you belong. It is important that you have a good ability to organize and plan activities in a way that promotes learning and development. You will also need to have clear and good communication skills and have the courage to make decisions and stand by them in relation to pupils, staff and guardians.
