The education administration in Umeå municipality is therefore now taking the initiative to establish a mobile operational team that will work preventively aimed at students in middle school aged 10-12 years who are at risk of problematic school absence, low goal achievement and possible norm-breaking behavior. The team should work outreach and create relationships with students in order to discover, support, prevent, create increased security and well-being. The efforts should involve the student's guardians and ultimately promote school attendance and that students with an unfavorable development receive support at an early stage.

Your work tasks
The Mobile Operational Team, which consists of two employees, makes its efforts after the consent of the student and guardians and on behalf of the principal of the school in question. The team assesses the pupil's needs and draws up an action plan together with the pupil health team, the pupil and the guardian. If it turns out that the family needs more extensive support, an application/notification is made by the school to the social services' reception unit.
The tasks can be, for example, to:
being present in the relevant schools to establish relationships with pupils and staff
pay attention to and take early action against norm-breaking behavior
participating in targeted concern meetings with guardians
hold thematic training/information for groups of pupils focusing, for example, on values-based work or increasing confidence in society's support functions, social services and police, etc.
social, emotional support for individuals and groups of pupils; support to get to school, for example
facilitating dialog between guardians and schools
contributing to good cooperation and collaboration with other professionals to make life easier for pupils and parents. Cooperation and collaboration can be within schools, social services, the police, associations and civil society.
work to include pupils in leisure activities of various kinds
About you
We are looking for two new employees to join the team who thrive in a varied and changing environment where no two days are the same. We want you to have suitable training for working with children/young people, perhaps as a leisure leader/similar. Perhaps you also have experience of working as a school caretaker or equivalent. With your background, you will complement the other employee hired in the team.
You need to have experience in social work with children/young people and guardians. You must also have experience of working closely with or working in a school, have knowledge of school activities, teaching and adaptations.

have experience in social work with school-age children and young people
can work in a structured and systematic way both in daily operational work and in terms of documentation
have very good relationship-building skills and are confident in conducting different types of conversations with students and guardians
have good teamwork skills to achieve success in their work
