We are now expanding our safety unit with a safety coordinator who wants to coordinate and develop the municipality's overall protection against property and liability damage from a holistic perspective. Umeå municipality's security unit has the overall task of coordinating the municipality's insurance coverage. The unit currently has nine employees and is organizationally located at the City Management Office within the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness. In addition to insurance coordination, the unit also has the task of coordinating the municipality's efforts to counteract organized crime and welfare crime, as well as the task of overall support, monitoring and developing the municipality's work with internal security, crisis preparedness, civil defense and information security. Umeå municipality, together with nine other municipalities, is a shareholder in a municipal insurance company - Svenska Kommun Försäkrings AB (SKFAB). The company has been formed so that the shareholders, in municipal cooperation, can obtain well-adapted insurance cover in the long term and on the most favorable terms possible, but also with a focus on loss prevention, which is based on the company's business concept, which reads: "SKFAB shall provide competitive insurance solutions and conduct active preventive work so that the policyholders with their business managers can sustainably conduct their business without disruption." Your tasks The Safety Unit's task of coordinating the municipality's insurance cover encompasses a wide range of work in several insurance areas. The municipality's insurance cover currently includes liability and property insurance, accident insurance and patient injury insurance. The task of the insurance coordinator is mainly limited to activities and measures aimed at coordinating the municipality's insurance cover, complying with current requirements and supporting and developing loss prevention work linked to insurable risks. The focus is on preventing and reducing the consequences of property and liability damage. The work is carried out together with the municipality's operations and the municipality's co-insured companies. Your main tasks are to; be the primary contact with our insurance intermediary and with the municipality's insurance captive SKF AB coordinate and develop internal processes for claims against the municipality inform, train and support the municipality's departments in insurance coverage and compliance coordinate and develop processes for insurance renewals develop the municipality's loss prevention risk management work develop the municipality's work on incident and claims reporting coordinate and initiate loss prevention efforts in the municipality, as well as the use of loss prevention funds coordinate the municipality's overall surveillance agreement coordinate the municipality's overall guidelines for camera management participate in existing networks in the field. The work includes work with quality assurance as a natural part of the tasks and to actively participate in the unit's work with equality and diversity issues. About you You have a university degree, preferably in law, damages, insurance, economics or work experience that the employer considers equivalent. Experience of working with insurance handling and risk management processes would be an advantage. Experience of working on these tasks in a municipal or public sector organization would also be an advantage. You will bring a structured and professional approach to your work. You are proactive, meticulous, but also flexible to the situation you find yourself in. You have the ability to work independently, but can also work with others. You are both willing and able to cooperate with many different interfaces and have a high sense of service and the ability to see the big picture. You express yourself very well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and have extensive administrative skills. Since the position is new in its design, you also have an interest and ability to develop the service based on the tasks it includes.
