Forslundagymnasiet is an agricultural high school located in a beautiful rural setting only 5 km from Umeå city center. The upper secondary school has about 200 students including adapted upper secondary school and adult education in gardening and land and construction. Adapted upper secondary school has two programs, SMD (forest, land and animals) and FAB (property, plant and construction). The students' days are mixed with practical and vocational elements and theoretical teaching. The school has its own farm, with around 60 dairy cows, calves and a flock of sheep. There are 190 ha of arable land for crop cultivation, all of which is produced organically. The school also has a dormitory. The school has horse stables, a dog training hall and an animal house with about 100 different species of small animals (fish, birds, reptiles, mammals). We are now looking for a safe student assistant for our adapted secondary school. Your tasks You will accompany students with an intellectual disability during a school day, both on professional days and in theoretical teaching. You will support students in transitions and during lessons, both individually and in groups. You help with their learning, adapt teaching to individual needs, and create a safe environment. You collaborate with teachers and special educators, accompany students to activities, and support them in social situations. About you You have knowledge of intellectual disabilities or NPF diagnoses in adolescents/young adults. You also have experience working as a student assistant or in other ways experience working with young people with intellectual disabilities. We would like to see that you are a trained childcare worker, student assistant, leisure leader or leisure educator. You have a good ability to build trusting relationships with both students and colleagues. You are responsible and structured, with a good ability to plan and adapt your approach to different needs and situations. Your flexibility allows you to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and you enjoy working in teams to create a positive and supportive environment for all.
