Our work contributes to the confidence of children and young people. Ersängsskolan is located in Östra Ersboda and is a multicultural F-9 school that is divided into several smaller schools. In total there are about 360 pupils at the school. There is also a customized primary school focusing on subject areas and resource classes for the entire municipality. We have one of Sweden's best school libraries and nearby there is a football pitch and adventure playground. Our dedicated teachers focus on a language-developing approach with the goal that everyone should meet the knowledge requirement. Ersängs skolan is one of Umeå municipality's training schools, which means that during the academic year we receive student teachers on their practical training, VFU. We work together to ensure that children and young people develop and have a secure upbringing. The curriculum of the adapted primary school/special primary school contains five subject areas that we work with: communication, motor skills, perception of reality, everyday activities and aesthetic activities. We support children and young people to live an independent life based on their individual circumstances. Your tasks As a student assistant at the adapted primary school after-school center, your main task is to support students with special needs in their learning, development and daily activities. You will work to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment that enables each student to reach their full potential. The work also includes assisting with personal needs, such as eating, toileting, dressing, transfers or other everyday tasks if needed. You will work closely with your team and other educators at the school. About you We are looking for you who have an upper secondary education and we would like to see that you are a trained residential supervisor, assistant or childminder. We are looking for you who have experience of working with children with an intellectual disability. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of AAC, AAC and accessible learning environment and have experience of working with students in NPF and students with epilepsy and in need of lifting aids. You are a confident adult and a good role model. You also have an ability to connect with students. You see each individual and create a safe environment in the school and collaborate with others to achieve set goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear and structured. You enjoy working with children with special needs as you are a very important part of their school day. You have good interpersonal skills, are responsive and have an easy time communicating and interacting with pupils and other key professionals in the target group. We attach great importance to personal suitability. As a result of the law on suitability checks, an extract from the police criminal record must be presented upon employment. Other information Permanent employment, part-time 50%, from 2025-03-10. As the service is at leisure, the working hours are between 12.00-17.00. Once a month we have evening meetings at 17.00-19.00.
