In the Elderly Investigation Unit, we meet people (aged 65 and over) who, due to ageing and its consequences, need support and help. We receive applications, investigate and make decisions under the Social Services Act (SoL). We follow up the decisions to ensure that the user's needs are met. Utredning Äldre is a unit with 30 employees and the office is centrally located in Umeå. Your work tasks The assignment as an assistance officer involves ensuring equal and legally secure processing. The tasks include, among other things, receiving notifications, applications, following up existing efforts, documenting, investigating, making decisions and guiding people based on their needs according to the SOL (Social Services Act). You work independently but also in close collaboration with colleagues, other professions and activities both internally and externally. In your work, you will collaborate and interact at individual, group and organizational level so that the individual's needs are met. You will have a lot of contact with the individuals as well as cooperation with colleagues, relatives/representatives and other actors in the field About you As an assistance officer, you will often meet people in difficult life situations, so it is important that you are confident and stable as a person. You are good at taking your own initiative and can work independently. The work requires flexibility and the ability to reprioritize at short notice as the workload can be high during periods. You want to actively participate in developing the business and contribute to a good working environment. You are committed and good at working together. You can see the needs of the individual and put them into a wider perspective. As we actively work for increased collaboration between our units, it is important that you as a person see collaboration issues as a natural part of your work. You can express yourself well in speech and writing. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You have a social worker education and have experience of exercising authority where you have made investigations and decisions based on the Social Services Act (SoL).
