Riksgymnasiet för rörelsehindrade is a national upper secondary school for those who need an adapted education due to their physical disability. Umeå is one of four locations in Sweden with a national upper secondary school for the physically disabled. In the academic year 2024/2025, the school will have a temporary increase in staffing needs. The position is permanent but the placement at the student home is for the spring semester 2025. After the end of the semester, you will receive your placement in the LSS children and young people's area of operation. In children and young people, in addition to the student home for the National Upper Secondary School for the Physically Disabled, we also implement short-term stay, short-term supervision and home care for children and young people. Within our area of activity, we co-plan our staffing between different units, so you as an applicant should be prepared to work in several activities. Working hours may therefore vary and be scheduled day/evening/weekend/day. The current position is divided between the student home 85% and 15% in other activities. Your tasks In your role as a support assistant, you will meet the students' needs for support in their care and nursing and contribute to a meaningful leisure time at the student home. You will also assist in planning the students' schooling and daily life. Our working methods should prepare students for their future adult lives. The work includes the usual household chores. About you We are looking for you who have the ability to work independently and at the same time collaborate within the staff group and other stakeholders. You are a confident adult and a good role model who has an ability to connect with students. You see each individual and create a safe environment in the student home and work well in collaboration with others. You take great personal responsibility and have patience when dealing with students. We attach great importance to personal suitability. Requirements: Educated as a nurse, social worker or other education that the employer considers equivalent Experience of working in disability care Good knowledge of Swedish language in speech and writing Meritorious: Experience of working in a residential school for the disabled Experience of working with children and young people with autism, intellectual disabilities and neuropsychiatric diagnoses As a result of the law on suitability checks, an extract from the police criminal record must be presented upon recruitment.
