Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction. Klossmyrvägen 3 in Obbola is a new group home according to LSS with six apartments for people with intellectual disabilities. The business will open in September 2025. We are now looking for eight support assistants who want to help start up the business. The working hours are arranged for day, evening, weekend and on-call duty. Are you the person we are looking for? Your work tasks The work involves supporting people with mainly intellectual disabilities in their everyday lives. You offer individual, social and practical support to enable and utilize the person's own abilities and thus create the conditions for independence, to make the individual participate in their everyday life and to have a meaningful leisure and employment. As a support assistant, you will support the resident with granted efforts such as food, cleaning, laundry, personal care and planned activities. Threats and violence may occur. You will plan, carry out, document, follow up and evaluate the various parts of the business within quality, individually and together with others. About you Requirements: Nursing and care program/USK education, child and leisure program, social work program or other education that the employer considers equivalent You must also have experience of working in the care sector. Meritorious Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities and/or mental disabilities is an advantage. Experience of low-effective treatment in working with extroverted people. Experience of clarifying pedagogy with visual aids and signs as support. As a person, you are calm, confident and have good self-awareness. You are empathetic and can put yourself in the shoes of others. You are committed and willing to share our values and work towards set goals and further development of the business. In order for you to be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, write and take part in care documentation and obtain medication, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
