Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction. Vintergatan is a new group home according to LSS with a focus on intellectual disabilities that will open in August / September 2025. Two children aged 9-13 years with autism diagnoses will live at the home. We are now looking for eight employees who want to help start up the home. Five positions for day/evening/weekend and three positions for awake night. Are you the one we are looking for? Your tasks As a support assistant, you will work with colleagues to support children in their everyday lives and contribute to a safe home environment. The children have great needs for help and support in all situations such as personal care, meals, walks, play situations and other everyday activities The work includes the usual household chores such as cooking, cleaning and washing dishes. Contact and cooperation with parents is also an important part of the job. Before you start your job, you will, together with other colleagues and the manager, undergo a comprehensive introduction that includes training on how to deal with children with autism. Acting out and self-harming behavior occurs. Co-planning with other activities may take place later on About you You have a good ability to cooperate and have a professional approach to the children, relatives and other actors around the children. You are committed and have a willingness to share our values and work towards set goals and to work with continuous improvements. In order for you to be able to communicate with the children, relatives and colleagues, write and take part in care documentation and obtain medication, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
