The focus will be on culture where activities in drama, art and creation are in focus. Here you will meet individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or neuropsychiatric diagnoses. Geographically, the business is located on Backenvägen.
We are now looking for a Support Educator to join our team. Is this you?
Your work tasks
Together with your colleagues, you support people with disabilities. You work to enable the individual to participate in a functional everyday life and to have a meaningful leisure time.
As a support educator, you work based on educational methods that are proven and advocated by the National Board of Health and Welfare. Your working methods are characterized by flexibility, continuity and security. You work with practical interventions and guide other staff to pedagogical solutions to challenges in the user-related work, by applying various pedagogical methods.
Working with continuous improvements in the quality perspective regarding pedagogical methods, communication, documentation and introduction of new colleagues in the business / activities is also included in the tasks.
You work on behalf of your manager and the assignments can vary over time depending on the needs of the business/activities.
As a support educator, you are part of a network with other support educators where we offer continuous collegial support and skills development.
In order for you to be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, and to receive medication, you must have a good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Heavy lifting/transferring, nursing work, smoking and threats and violence occur in the business. The scheduled working hours are day, evening and weekend.
In disability care, we work with co-planning with other activities.
About you
We are looking for you who want to make a difference for the target group and who have good teaching skills. You have a great commitment and desire to be involved in developing the business. You are solution-focused, have a good attitude and are good at communicating and interacting with all roles that you meet in your everyday life. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in the form of at least 200 YH credits, Support Educator or other equivalent YH education. Alternatively 60 HP in relevant courses towards disability care. Programs and/or courses with a clear focus on work with intellectual, cognitive and mental disabilities. For example in:
- Ethical approaches
- Pedagogical theories and methods
- Alternative and augmentative communication
- Cognitive support
- Coaching approaches.
- A few years of experience working with people with disabilities or other work experience that we consider equivalent.
Merit:
- Experience or training in drama, art/similar areas, low-impact behavior, LAB, alternative and augmentative communication, AAC and motivational interviewing, MI
