Umedalsallén is a service home under LSS with a social psychiatric focus.
We support people with neuropsychiatric diagnoses in everyday life where their own abilities vary and the psychosocial support is the most important. Due to the focus and nature of the business, threats and violence may occur.
We are now looking for a support educator for Umedalsallén. This position includes co-planning with other activities than Umedalsallén.
Your work tasks
You will work together with the rest of the staff group based on our mission statement - "to strengthen the ability to live an independent life" Your task as a support educator will be to supervise, support and follow up the educational work at the unit. You keep up to date on current educational aids, work to implement and evaluate how these work in the work of supporting users in their everyday lives and in leisure activities.
As a support educator, you are expected to be active both in the educational development work and in the daily work with the users. This includes nursing tasks, chores that occur in the accommodation such as medication management, administration, collaboration (both internally & externally).
You work on behalf of your manager and the assignments can vary over time depending on the needs of the business / activities.
As a support educator, you are part of a network with other support educators where we offer continuous peer support and skills development.
About you
We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for the target group and who has good teaching skills. You should have a great deal of commitment and a desire to be involved in developing the business. You are solution-focused and good at communicating and interacting with all roles that you meet in your everyday life. You are confident and have good interpersonal skills. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- You are a trained support educator
- You have experience of working in LSS and disability care
Meritorious:
- Knowledge of any of the methods: motivational interviewing, ESL, clarifying pedagogy and low-effective treatment.
At the accommodation there is smoking and fur animals so you should not be allergic. The scheduled working hours are day, evening, weekend and daytime.
