For several years now, Umeå municipality has had a staff pool aimed at preschools, where we currently have more than 80 full-time employees who support regular staff in the event of absence and create stability in the work group. In the spring of 2022, work began to expand the staff pool to include primary schools. Today we have over 30 employees there. We are now looking for you who want to work with us and become part of our staff pool! Your tasks When you work as a teacher in after-school care in the staff pool, you are booked as a substitute at the schools in the area when regular staff are absent. It's a varied and stimulating job where you meet many different children and adults and become part of the staff group for the day. As an after-school teacher, you work to support the children's development and give them the opportunity for various leisure activities, such as carpentry, painting, theater or sports, but also to socialize with free play as a starting point. You will work to develop the children's social skills, as well as teaching them skills such as math, language and social studies. Fritidshem and primary school are governed by the same curriculum and your task is to work in a practical way with the school curriculum and support the children in their learning. You will go on excursions or study visits with the children, often together with primary school teachers at the school. The work involves supporting children to develop their interests, take initiative and take responsibility for themselves and others. About you We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher in after-school care. You have experience of working with children aged 6-12 years. We see it as positive if you have experience of working in after-school programs. You are a confident adult and a good role model. You also have an ability to connect with the students, see each individual and create a good atmosphere. The key words for the staff pool are "flexible, competent and experienced". Working in the pool requires flexibility and a good ability to build and maintain relationships with regular staff, children and guardians. As a result of the law on suitability checks, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment. The position requires a B driving license and access to your own car.
