Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction. Ordinary housing is organized in the disability care and here you will find short-term supervision, short-term housing, relief service and home care and the National High School for children and young people. We have daily activities/employment, housing support and addiction recovery teams for adults over 18. Today there are six short-term homes in the municipality with different specializations for children and young adults. We offer a safe stay with the opportunity for social interaction in a home-like environment. The short-term stay provides the opportunity to create new relationships and perhaps try new things. Great emphasis is placed on trying to create a meaningful stay and positive experiences in the form of various activities individually or in groups. We also work to ensure that the children are involved and independent based on their age and circumstances. Your work tasks As our Head of Unit, you will be responsible for operations, children/young adults, staff and finances. The main task is to ensure that we conduct high-quality activities where our employees provide the best support to those we meet. The tasks will include, among other things: conducting activities where both staff and children thrive and feel good and where arenas for participation and co-creation are part of everyday life responsibility for achieving objectives and implementing agreed activities responsibility for ensuring that systematic work is carried out within the organization in terms of operational goals, work environment, quality, finances, etc. budget/financial work staff planning, staffing and recruitment providing staff with guidance and feedback on their work so that care work develops communicating values, encouraging dialog and cooperation You report to the Deputy Director of Operations and you are part of a group of 16 managerial colleagues. Your workplace is centrally located in Umeå on Rådhusesplanaden, but the present leadership requires you to visit and be present in your activities regularly. About you We are looking for you who have a university education, preferably as a social worker or other behavioral orientation. We want you to have experience as a manager and experience of the target group in disability care, preferably of short-term accommodation / stay and children / young people. If you also have experience with children/young people with challenging behavior, it is an advantage. As a unit manager, you will often work at a fast pace and you will be involved in conditions that can change quickly. To thrive in this role, you must therefore appreciate being challenged and be solution-focused as a person. You are clear in your leadership role and you work purposefully and systematically with continuous improvements. You are also unpretentious and able to prioritize in pressured situations.
