Umeå Elitidrottsgymnasium is Sweden's second largest elite sports high school with around 400 students in 14 different sports. There are both nationally approved sports programs (NIU) and sports with national intake. The school also offers local sports education (LIU) in ice hockey, skiing and orienteering. Students choose between five different upper secondary programs. As a member of our staff, you will be part of a large team with many contacts - to teachers, special sports teachers, the principal and a committed student health team. We are now looking for a sharp upper secondary school teacher in special sports with a focus on E-sport. Your work tasks Your main task is to lead the students at NIU E-sport in their personal development in E-sport. You will also be the school's natural contact in the collaboration with the student's association and the Swedish E-Sports Federation. In addition, you will play a central role in the start-up and further development of the business. The role includes planning and implementing teaching, collaborating with colleagues on student learning and other common teacher tasks such as follow-up work and grading. About you We are looking for you who are a trained teacher with qualifications in special sports. You have experience of working as a coach in E-sport at a high level, or have competed at an elite level yourself. You also have leadership training or equivalent leadership experience. You are familiar with the school's governing documents and have the ability to individualize and vary teaching based on students' needs. To succeed in the role, you need to have good collaboration skills, as peer learning in subject groups is an important part of the work. You are a clear leader in the classroom with the ability to create structure, context and good relationships. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
