About the role

The Project & Technology Department has an important and responsible mission, which is to develop methodology for and manage the nuclear waste arising from Sweden's early nuclear research programs. This includes three specialized units; Radiophysics & Development, Waste Technology & Investigation and Projects & Coordination.

We are now looking for a Business Analyst for the Projects & Technology department. Are you a committed and analytical person who is passionate about developing customer relationships and business-critical IT systems? Do you want to be a key player in the nuclear industry and help optimize waste and decommissioning processes? Then the role of Business Analyst at SVAFO is for you!

About the role

As a Business Analyst at Projects & Technology, you will be the link between our customers and our technical organization. Your main task will be to understand and translate customer needs into practical solutions within SVALA, while supporting the continuous development of the system. SVALA is an IT system designed to support waste management and decommissioning in the nuclear industry and industries generating radioactive waste. You will:

  • be the first point of contact for customers and build strong relationships to understand their needs and priorities
  • receive and clarify customer requirements, while helping them understand the capabilities and limitations of the system
  • collaborate with the development team to formulate solution proposals and coordinate testing at launches
  • participate in meetings and presentations and support the customer in concretizing their needs and requirements

We offer the chance to work in a dynamic and evolving environment with great opportunities to influence ways of working and processes. SVALA is a central part of nuclear waste management in Sweden, and you will be an important part of its management and future development.

Requirement specification

To thrive and succeed in the role of Business Analyst, we see that you have:

  • relevant higher education with a technical focus, e.g. in systems science, physics or a related field. Alternatively, longer work experience in the relevant field
  • experience working with customer relations, technical problem solving or project management
  • Swedish and English in speech and writing

Experience from a government-regulated industry or system management is meritorious. Experience in nuclear or radio physics is a bonus, but not a requirement.

Personal qualities

To succeed as a Business Analyst, you are analytical, collaborative, communicative and strongly self-driven. You are strategic and able to manage complex information to find solutions that support both customers and the organization. By understanding the customer's perspective, you can translate their needs into tangible improvements and present them clearly.

Your ability to collaborate and communicate is essential to the role. You have the ability to build relationships and align work towards different goals as organizations and groups use SVALA based on both common and specific needs. You have good communication skills and a pedagogical streak that allows you to explain complex systems and processes in an easy-to-understand way.

Finally, you are driven and actively seek new development opportunities. You dare to take initiatives, suggest improvements and work independently with a holistic perspective - which is important in the management of SVALA.

We attach great importance to your personal qualities.
