Here you will work

As a Category Buyer, you work based on the needs of the various activities in everything from the tender phase to the implementation of customer projects, maintenance measures and investment projects. You will be involved in improving the purchasing process and developing purchasing into an integrated function for the business. You will work closely with other buyers, project managers, lawyers and other commercial functions within Vattenfall.

Main responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category plans and strategies
  • Conduct purchasing and procurement of materials, services and contracts
  • Responsible for framework agreements and nurturing strategic supplier relationships
  • Participate in developing processes, working methods and tools that support the purchasing process for both purchasing and the business
  • Interact with technology and project departments within the business as well as other requirements units in Vattenfall


Requirement specification

To succeed in the role, we see that you have

  • Relevant theoretical education in e.g.e.g. technology, economics, purchasing or other experience deemed equivalent
  • Broad experience of procurement of materials, services and contracts in the contract forms NL17, NLM 19 ALEM 09, ALOS 05 and AB, ABT, AMA
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in category-based purchasing and contract management
  • Deficient experience of negotiations in complex organizations
  • Fluent in Swedish & English, orally and in writing

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience in leading the development of category management, processes and tools
  • Leadership experience in roles such as team leader or project manager
  • Experience in the energy industry
