About the role

The chemistry unit at Forsmark is now looking for a committed chemist who wants to be involved in influencing our chemical management. In this role, you will have the chance to work in a unique and dynamic environment, where your work makes a difference for both the business and society.


About the job

The Chemistry Unit is responsible for chemical management at Forsmark and works to optimize the chemistry of the reactor blocks to minimize corrosion and activity dispersion. The unit has a total of about 30 employees divided into the groups of operational monitoring and chemical specialists. The specialist group, where this position is included, has expertise in, among other things, chemical and radioactivity measurement technology, polymer chemistry, corrosion, process chemistry and chemical management.

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for and further develop the chemical management system iChemistry.
  • Assess and classify chemical products with a focus on process impact, waste, health and the environment.
  • Develop procedures for chemical management that meet both internal and external requirements, and provide support in the area to the entire organization.
  • Initiate and run projects in chemical management.

The work involves varied tasks in the field of chemical management as chemicals are used in almost the entire organization. There are also special requirements for the chemicals used at a nuclear power plant as some chemicals are used in and on the process systems.

Requirement specification


We are looking for you who have:

  • Chemistry education or experience in the field of chemical management
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of iChemistry.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
  • B-driving license.

If you have good general knowledge of chemical risks with regard to health and impact on materials, it is meritorious. It is also meritorious with knowledge in the areas of water treatment technology and process chemistry as there are great opportunities, if there is interest, to develop in these areas as well.

As a person, you are proactive and self-driven and you drive your work tasks forward in a structured way. You are also communicative and relationship-building and create good collaborations and you thrive in a role where you can be a support for others. To be successful in the role, you also need to be solution-oriented, you see the big picture and find ways forward to effectively solve the challenges you face.
