Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. About the role

The department is responsible for maintaining the company's dam safety in accordance with policy and national laws. We strive for world-class dam safety. The department is on the verge of a concerted effort to accelerate our efforts to improve dam safety at our facilities in the near future.

The position is part of the Swedish organization together with the entire team that has a great deal of expertise in the field of dust technology. Freely varied work with great opportunities to set up your own planning. Making things happen, interacting with several parts of the organization and with many different people. In your role as a dam safety coordinator, you will collaborate to implement dam safety improvement measures mainly at the facilities along Dalsland and Sjuhäradsbygden.

The main tasks of the position:

  • Coordinate and plan implementation of maintenance activities, e.g. inspection, monitoring, verification control
  • Conduct annual inspections and continuous measurement evaluation using available measurement systems (e.g. PI) and plan resource allocation for electrical and mechanical inspectors with the maintenance unit
  • Project manage planned dam maintenance activities
  • Participate in in-depth inspections, permit control, maintenance and projects
  • Support and conduct exercises locally regarding contingency planning for production groups,
  • production centers, operations management/VHI, authorities and others.
  • Continuously handle issues related to dam safety and report to the dam technical expert if necessary
  • Participate in supervision according to LSO and other regulatory supervision
  • Annual report to DS as a basis for annual report.
  • Apply the risk management process for dams
  • Collaborate with other roles and functions regarding dam safety
  • Strive for continuous improvement for both individual and company-wide goals
  • Perform other tasks according to the immediate manager's directives

Requirements

We are looking for you who have

  • Academic degree that is applicable in the field equivalent to 3 years of university education
  • Experience in dam safety and hydropower
  • Very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We see that you have professional experience in the work area and also have data analytical skills. You are mobile as the service involves frequent visits to the plants, which requires you to have access to a driving license B.

We attach great importance to your personal qualities. As the role is coordinating, it requires the ability to lead and drive actions even without a formal managerial role. At the same time, you have the ability to go out yourself and carry out practical inspections and be able to see and assess the condition of the facilities. You are orderly, service-oriented and enjoy playing a cohesive role. You build partnerships and collaborate internally and externally to achieve common goals. Furthermore, we believe that you are unpretentious and responsible in your own work.
