About the role

Vattenfall Eldistribution is in the middle of the energy transition and has a central role in the powerful electrification that is currently taking place at the societal level. The transition means greatly increased customer interactions where the Customer Information and Insights group's role is to translate external and market trends into business impact, analyze our customers and build forecasts to understand the growth rate.

We are now looking for a Data Analyst with an interest in developing customer insights that guide the business and enable a sustainable future.

Job description

As a Data Analyst, you are part of the "Customer Insights" product team, which currently consists of four people. We deliver both qualitative and quantitative insights on how our customers' needs and behaviors affect the electricity grid, in areas such as "Electrification of transport", "Production & Storage" and "Industry and business premises". Our analyses and insights are used to enable the business to be customer-centric in strategies and processes, but also for external collaboration projects.

Your main responsibility as a Data Analyst will be to conduct business and market analyses and generate both quantitative and qualitative customer insights, such as forecasts and business intelligence. You will be responsible for planning and executing various activities prioritized by the Product Owner, so that they meet the needs of the users and are in line with the operational objectives of the product. Together with the rest of the team, you promote a T-shaped team (with broad general knowledge as well as expertise in certain subject matters). To reach out with the team's work, communication and storytelling are an important part, you will continuously need to present insights both externally and internally.

Our work is in demand in several places within and outside the business, which together with a rapidly changing world, creates a need for new types of analysis and insights. Therefore, we work agile and have started the transition to a more data-driven way of working, which is an important aspect to further develop. We work mainly on behalf of the business and maintain a close dialog with them. This means that the analyses are needs-driven and can vary depending on external events.

Requirements

To be successful in the role, we believe you have:

  • Some years of experience analyzing large data sets
  • Some years of experience programming in Python or similar programming language
  • Some years of experience with visualization software such as Power BI
  • Some years of experience building efficient and clear code to automate workflows, from structuring input files, processing and finally visualizing data
  • Good skills in conveying messages / putting together presentations
  • Relevant academic degree
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing

We see it as meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience in customer insight, forecasting and/or the energy industry
  • Experience in working with data quality; identifying and addressing gaps and initiating improvement initiatives
  • Experience working in agile in SCRUM teams or equivalent knowledge

As the role of the department is to understand the needs of the business in the customer insight area, your communication and relationship building skills both internally and externally are important. You have an innovative and analytical side and a strength in turning insights into consequences. We also believe that you are agile and proactive to handle the breadth of the role.
