About the role

Sweden has embarked on a historic transition and is facing a comprehensive electrification of society. To show our ambition to contribute to the energy transition and to continue to enable increased electrification of Sweden, we aim to distribute twice as much electricity in our electricity grid by 2030 and to transmit electricity with 99.99% delivery reliability.

Society today has an expectation that we will be a leading player in the issues related to the energy transition that is taking place in Sweden and the world right now.

Do you want to make a real difference for Sweden to succeed in the energy transition and achieve the climate goals? If so, apply for the role of Energy Engineer in Generation and Energy Storage!

To meet the requirements and needs of access to the electricity grid, the Grid Connections unit is tasked with handling new connections, connection changes, rebuilding and connection of feed-in and production to Vattenfall's local grid (0.4-24 kV) at the customer's request. The unit currently consists of six departments and is under development.

We are now looking for more committed employees to join the group responsible for connection issues in production and energy storage, with a focus on new technology and batteries.

Job tasks as Energy Engineer at Grid Connections

The position suits you who like to handle challenges at the intersection of technology, customer and society. Right now, we are seeing strong growth in renewable energy, charging infrastructure and energy storage. All this requires that the electricity network also develops, and the customer's first meeting with the electricity network company takes place in the connection case.

As an Energy Engineer with us, you will thus have a key role in a positive experience for the customer. You will have a key role in the customer's experience and in ensuring that we are perceived as an enabler of sustainable development in society. There is a strong commitment in society and an increasing demand from our customers for new technologies in feeding into our electricity networks, which may mean that you need to be able to adapt to rapid changes as the way forward is not always clear. In addition to renewable energy generation, we are increasingly looking to energy storage and batteries for ancillary services, to make their own consumption patterns more efficient or make the plant less sensitive to external influences by going off-grid in selected situations

In the role you will:

  • Participate in forums and drive issues around generation, batteries and energy storage
  • Be a driver and active in the developments taking place around energy storage and new feed-in technologies
  • Work independently but in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders on new technologies and connection issues.
  • Act as the customer's contact throughout the connection case, where you continuously follow up progress with installers and contractors
  • Plan and design connection cases related to feeding into our low-voltage network to find the best and most efficient solutions
  • Perform electricity network calculations, prepare customer quotes and calculations and work with project descriptions
  • Order the execution of contractors, review preparations, follow up and report project finances
  • Train and disseminate knowledge in batteries and energy storage

You will also work to implement new guidelines and requirements that are developed at both national and international levels. Work will consist of monitoring technical developments and applying this within our business.

Come and work with us!

With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a corporate culture where we strive to be open, active and positive with tasks that develop and challenge you. We offer you a free and stimulating job where you become part of a strong community and work together with your team to find the best solutions for the customer. We have the privilege to be part of the journey as the energy industry is changing, which requires you to be adaptable but also gives you great opportunities for both personal and professional development. We advocate and support continuous learning, which is needed to be able to adapt to new requirements, conditions and consequences in terms of "new technology", new regulations and the like.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have a strong personal drive and commitment. You are used to taking your own initiatives and have the ability to drive your work forward and get things done. As the contact network in the role is wide, we assume that communication and collaboration are something that is natural for you. Furthermore, you have an analytical ability and are good at solving unpredictable problems as you will act as a project manager for the connection cases you are responsible for.

In this recruitment, we attach great importance to your personal qualities. If you do not have work experience from the electric power industry, we see that you have a degree as either a civil engineer, university engineer or a YH degree with a focus on energy or electric power.

Meriterative is previous work with customers and projects, as a connection engineer or experience in production where you may have worked in roles such as project manager, energy engineer or preparer.
