About the role

Do you want to work close to the business and at the same time be involved in developing radiation protection work? Do you want to contribute to Sweden's fossil-free electricity supply?

We are now looking for an engineer in measurement technology and measurement systems for the Radiation Protection Technology group at Forsmark Power Group.

About the job

In the Radiation Protection Technology group, we support the other groups in the Operational Radiation Protection unit with regard to radiation safety and instrument development, and support the project department with radiological knowledge. We also manage and provide required radiation protection training and investigations in radiology and radiation safety. A large part of our daily activities is dedicated to operational improvements and ALARA issues.

As a metrology and measurement systems engineer, you will support the operational radiation protection groups, dosimetry and other departments at Forsmark in matters related to radiation protection instruments. The role involves a large network of contacts at Forsmark and other nuclear facilities in Sweden and there are opportunities to both work long-term with major issues and be problem-solving as the business is operational and event-driven. It is a broad position with opportunities to both broaden and deepen your competence in several different areas depending on your profile and areas of interest.

Your tasks

  • Responsibility for radioactive preparations (HASS) and radiation protection instruments
  • Related reporting to the area of responsibility
  • Management and development of instructions and operating instructions
  • Responsibility for purchasing planning and inventory for the department
  • Development, strategic planning
  • International monitoring in own area
  • Maintain and develop the content of training in radiation protection instruments and HASS
  • Teach in required training based on own competence profile

The position is part of Forsmark's accident preparedness organization.

Requirements

We would like to see that you have a few years of work experience in instrument handling, for example as a hospital physicist or in another area that the employer considers relevant. Alternatively, you have a technical university degree, preferably in measurement systems and measurement technology. You speak and write fluently in Swedish and have a good knowledge of English.

It is highly meritorious if you have operational experience from radiation protection work and plant knowledge acquired from work at nuclear power plants, but we will teach you what you do not know. If you have experience of project planning, we also see that as meritorious.

As a person, you are curious, strive for continuous improvement and use your analytical skills when, for example, reviewing documents. You are structured and have good self-leadership in how you organize your work. You enjoy administrative work as well as the more technical and practical work of instrument management. In your role, you will have a lot of contact with other staff within Forsmark, which means that you need to have a good dialog and see cooperation with others as a success factor. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
