Company description

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 450 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that supplies nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, Group staffs and stakeholders. This includes activities such as project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments. The focus of the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected key technical disciplines. We work actively with continuous improvement initiatives and development of our models, where our work and competence create great value for Vattenfall and its investments.

About the role

The Engineering Department at Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services in a single competence center for all of Vattenfall's operations, Group staffs and stakeholders. This involves activities in the form of feasibility studies, analyses, investigations and project planning in all of our energy sources. The focus of the business unit is to develop our competence in strategic areas to work towards Vattenfall's development towards a fossil-free future.

As a Fire Engineer you will e.g. work with

  • Evaluation of current and new facilities against applicable laws, standards and regulations
  • Expert support in the design, procurement, installation and commissioning of new installations or modifications to existing systems
  • Expert support/performer of fire engineering analyzes, risk analyses, and in the design and development of systematic fire protection work and response plans
  • Expert support/evaluation of fire protection in new innovative electrical systems

Together with your colleagues, you will develop and maintain a high level of safety in our facilities. You will work closely with plant owners and clients, supporting with coordination, analysis and investigations in the field of fire. You will work on strategic issues and facility renewal projects, where your expertise in fire protection and fire processes is essential. As a fire engineer, you can contribute at several stages in the construction of new plants or plant changes that contribute to fossil-free energy.

Requirements

We are looking for you who have a fire engineering degree and several years of experience in the fire field. You have worked on SEVESO issues and have experience in conducting risk analysis. You also have a deep understanding of fire dynamics and calculations. In addition, experience in tunnels or underground facilities is an advantage. Experience from the energy sector or industry is also seen as a plus, as well as if you have experience of contacts with authorities in the field of fire protection, certification according to SAK3, and rescue services.

Good knowledge of English and Swedish, both spoken and written, is a requirement, as well as a driving license B.

Location: Solna, Gothenburg, Nyköping, Gävle, Uppsala or Västerås. Travel is included as a natural part of the service, but we are actively working on technical solutions to reduce the proportion of travel.
