About the role

Do you want an exciting everyday life and work for a fossil-free future? As an Electricity Network Engineer/Power System Analyst with us, you will be able to influence tomorrow's climate-smart society and create the electricity network of the future.

Sweden has embarked on a historic transition and is facing a comprehensive electrification of society. To demonstrate our ambition to contribute to the energy transition and to continue to enable increased electrification of Sweden, we aim to distribute twice as much electricity in our grid by 2030 and to transmit electricity with 99.99% reliability.

This means that Vattenfall Electricity Distribution needs to continue to grow and we are now looking for an Electricity Network Engineer/Power System Analyst who has experience of electricity networks (local or regional networks) and an interest in analysis and calculation.

Responsibilities

As an Electricity Network Engineer/Power System Analyst with us, you will be part of the Selective Planning unit with about 30 colleagues with great technical knowledge and experience of Sweden's regional and local networks. The work we do contributes to increasing Vattenfall Electricity Network's security of supply and is therefore an important piece of the puzzle in Sweden's green electrification.

In your role, you will mainly use your electrical power expertise for complex analyzes and calculations of relay protection settings, as well as be a requirement setter when designing relay protection systems that ensure reliable and safe fault disconnection in our electricity network.

You will work with:

  • Investigations and fault analyses in case of operational disturbances
  • Development of selective plans for local and regional networks
  • Fault current calculations
  • Participate in project groups for investment projects
  • Management of control facilities
  • Internal development of working methods

We work mainly from our offices, but have regular contact with operating staff and control facility engineers in the field. In addition, we often collaborate with other units within the company, such as: Grid Analysis, Project Engineering and Power Quality.

Requirements

We are looking for you who have:

  • a post-secondary engineering degree in electrical power, or equivalent competence acquired in another way that we consider equivalent
  • experience in electricity networks (local or regional networks)
  • interest in calculations and analyzes
  • good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English

It is meritorious if you have experience of

  • working with meshed power grids
  • development of selective plans
  • working with control plants
  • working with HVDC
  • programming in, for example, Python, VBA, C# or similar
  • project management
