Vattenfall Electricity Distribution is in the middle of the energy transition and has a central role in the powerful electrification taking place in society. In a time of rapid change, effective communication is a key factor in achieving our strategic ambitions.

As Head of Communications, you have the overall responsibility for coordinating and driving communication work at strategic, tactical and operational levels. With the support of your team and the Group-wide communication function, you will ensure strong and coherent communication in customer and market communication, digital channels, internal communication, crisis communication, advocacy and press and media management.

Your team consists of two direct reports and a total of 18 employees. As Head of Communications, you will play a key role in coordinating and directing our communications at all levels - strategic, tactical and operational. The role also includes some communication support to the European Distribution business unit.

You will report to the Vice President Customer and Connections who is part of the company and business unit management team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the communication function and ensure strategic and coordinated communication.
• Ensure that communication efforts support and reinforce Electricity Distribution's strategy and objectives, in line with the Group's brand and communication strategy.
• Drive the development of the communication function through, for example, data-driven insights and digitalization.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with external and internal stakeholders, including media, authorities and industry players.
• Proactively manage crisis communication and media training to strengthen the organization's preparedness.
• Lead and develop employees and teams in accordance with Vattenfall's leadership principles: Drive Innovation, Accelerate Learning and Connect People.
• Participate in the Customer and Connections management team and be co-opted to the BA Distribution management team on strategic communication issues.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced and confident leader with a strategic mindset and an ability to create engagement and direction in a dynamic environment. You are a networking relationship builder who skillfully navigates a complex organization and creates successful collaborations. Furthermore, you have a structured and analytical mindset, combined with an operational drive.

As a person, you are positive, solution-oriented and unpretentious. You thrive in a changing environment and drive development with a proactive and businesslike approach. You see communication as a crucial force in strengthening the business and contributing to Vattenfall's overall goals.

Qualifications and experience:

• Academic degree in communication, marketing, political science or other relevant field.
• Deficient experience of strategic communication work in large, complex organizations, preferably in the infrastructure or industrial sector.
• Experience in leading and developing teams, with a proven ability to build strong and engaged organizations.
• Documented experience in marketing communications, digital channels and brand development.
• Experience working with crisis communication, press and media management and advocacy.
• Strong ability to work in a management team and to collaborate at a high strategic level.
• Very good communication skills, both in Swedish and English, in speech and writing.
