Responsibilities and tasks:

We are now looking for a Head of Department for Construction & Property Development within the Project Engineering unit. The department is newly formed and will gradually grow to just over ten employees. It complements the unit's other three departments, which provide electrical power expertise within Vattenfall Eldistributions project operations. Project Engineering currently consists of power system specialists in several different specialist areas and constitutes the plant engineering specialist competence in the project operations, currently a total of about 50 employees. The departments are operationally responsible for ensuring that technical requirements are met in the planning and implementation of plant investments. The employees carry out most of their work in our civil engineering projects, which are organized in programs.

As Head of Department for Construction & Property Development, you will lead and inspire a department of committed, well-motivated and knowledgeable people in property development, architecture, construction technology and AMA. The department ensures that our investments give us the best possible conditions to be Sweden's leading electricity network company.

  • Promote, develop and continue the implementation of the Construction Technology & Property Development function both internally within the unit and externally within the project business.
  • Lead a department with the important task of ensuring building rights and construction technical content in our construction projects.
  • Plan, prioritize and follow up the business, which includes resource planning and work distribution within our program organization.
  • Drive development issues together with your colleagues at Project Technology and together with colleagues from neighboring units, and create conditions for effective collaboration.
  • Continuously analyze skills and resource needs and actively work with skills supply and recruitment. The departments will grow in the coming years to match future resource and skills needs.
  • Create strong relationships with both internal and external parties, which is why both the ability and willingness to communicate, collaborate, influence and develop the business are important.
  • As a member of the unit's management team, you will actively contribute to the development of both the business and the organization.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who are a determined, down-to-earth and unpretentious person who is curious and willing to learn. You have a high degree of personal maturity and have established a solid credibility in your leadership, built on both business insight and management experience. It is important that you are concerned about health and safety issues and understand the importance of security as we build critical infrastructure. Health and safety is central to everything we do.

It is natural for you to adapt your leadership to the situation by daring to give employees the space to make decisions in their own work, based on the goals and requirements of the business. When required, you have the ability to make quick decisions even when access to information is limited.

You are driven by developing both people and new ways of working and have the ability to inspire and make your employees grow and feel committed to the work together with colleagues within the company.

Other experience:

  • Broad experience in the construction industry. Of particular importance are development issues, planning work, architecture, project management, construction law and construction technology.
  • Work with business development.
  • Experience and ability to work in large organizations, which requires working in a process-oriented manner.
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both written and oral
  • Relevant academic education and experience of leading
  • Documented skills in business and goal management, preferably from the construction industry.
  • Driving license: class B.

Preferably:

  • Documented experience of project activities in the construction industry.
  • Documented experience in development projects in the early and implementation stages.
