We are working together to responsibly dispose of the two decommissioned reactors and demonstrate the sustainable life cycle of nuclear power as part of our work towards fossil freedom. To achieve our goal, we need committed employees who want to work at one of Sweden's largest electricity producers and at the same time contribute to a better climate on our planet.

Now we are looking for a Technical Manager for the Decommissioning and Waste Management department at Ringhals.

About the job

The decommissioning of reactors 1 & 2 is now in an intensive period and is gaining increasing focus within Ringhals. There is now an opportunity to influence the development and enable Vattenfall's vision of a fossil-free future. The work we do in the decommissioning department is not only important today but will also demonstrate the role of nuclear power in the energy society by closing the cycle. Now you have the opportunity to contribute to that in the position of Technical Manager.

The Decommissioning and Waste Management Department is tasked with operating, developing and decommissioning Ringhals' shutdown reactors. Developing means ensuring that systems needed for safe working environment and decommissioning work but also adapting as the decommissioning progresses to ultimately also be demolished. Dismantling & decommissioning takes place in the Fenix program where you in a leading role drive the collaboration between Ringhals, Vattenfall Power Solution and contractors, which results in a huge combined knowledge and experience bank in mega projects and decommissioning.

Your tasks

As Technology Manager, you will lead the unit's work in safety documentation, adaptation of systems for decommissioning and develop strategies to enable environmentally safe decommissioning of all systems in the decommissioning area. You will contribute to streamlining and developing the entire decommissioning operation through your role in the management team.

In your work, you act so that the necessary systems and functions are maintained to such an extent that the status of the facilities and the implementation of the decommissioning work is sufficient for a safe working environment. An important task is to be part of the work on joint evaluation of safety cases. As developments in decommissioning are now taking place on a large scale, you will identify, plan and follow up on action needs in the engineering activities. In the role of Technology Manager, you are the one who primarily decides within the plant development and you are involved in driving the development of the management system (program manual) as a basis for a cost-effective, well-functioning and safe disposal of the spent reactors.

Requirement specification

You have the ability to work in uncertainty, be able to prioritize and keep good order as well as experience in plant development and preferably handling safety issues. If you are also determined and can persevere in your pursuit of success, even though it does not always turn out exactly as you planned, then you have good prospects of succeeding in the role!

We are looking for you who have a relevant university / college education or equivalent education / experience and experience of working in a managerial position.
