You will belong to an architecture function with broad expertise in Enterprise, Business, IT and Information Architecture. The architecture department consists of about 20 employees and consultants with the task of directing, supporting and managing the design of the company's architecture with a focus on and data / information, IT and Operational Technology (OT).

As an IT architect with us, you will have a central role in shaping and driving our long-term IT and digitization strategy for the Business Common domain, which includes everything from HR, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, to Document Management, Compliance and Work Environment, etc. You will work on everything from application modernization strategies, integration, data management to interoperability, information technology and engineering. Information and data quality issues will be a central part of the work. The work also involves close cooperation with the security function and you will have many interfaces, stakeholders and actors both externally and internally, including our group-wide IT (Vattenfall IT).

Vattenfall Eldistribution is about to embark on a major SAP upgrade (S/4Hana) in parallel with a move towards a domain-driven and more business-oriented architecture work. Together with the other architects in the team, you will be involved in shaping and establishing new ways of working and methods and participate in the major SAP move in close collaboration with both business and IT.

Examples of tasks/responsibilities;

  • Drive co-creation and anchoring of our future IT landscape in close collaboration with IT and the business
  • Lead the work of developing target architecture, IT roadmaps and architecture principles in the area to ensure effective portfolio management.
  • Participate in/support projects, conduct analyses and develop and communicate decision-making documents and architecture to various target groups
  • Together with other architects and the business, ensure that the architecture is up to date and coherent
  • Skills development and business intelligence in your area
  • Participate in the work of further developing common architecture methods and tools

Requirements specification

We see that you have customer focus and the ability to see the big picture. You are comfortable leading and driving architecture work and have the ability to balance short- and long-term focus. You communicate and visualize complex solutions in a simple and accessible way, you are skilled at anchoring and navigating large organizations, and you show humility and respect in working with others. You are also curious and good at keeping up to date with what is happening in your professional field and in the industry. We attach great importance to your personal qualities.


We would like you to have:

  • Relevant education from university or college in IT, computer science or equivalent
  • Experience in architecture work in roles such as Domain Architect, IT Architect, Solution Architect and/or System Architect
  • Experience with SAP (S/4HANA, SAP FI/CO, SAP DMS, SAP HCM, SAP HR etc), Microsoft Azure and IAM solutions are meritorious
  • You have experience of major IT modernization and computer transformation projects in complex IT environments with hybrid cloud solutions
  • Experience in producing decision-making documents, developing, communicating and maintaining target architectures and IT roadmaps
  • Experience of architecture work with complex IT environments, preferably in facility-intensive, critical and/or security-classified operations.
  • Fluent Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Experience and ability to apply methods and frameworks (SAFe, TOGAF etc) and architecture tools (we use Sparx Enterprise Architect) to create architecture that delivers clear customer and business benefits.
