The Markets Business Area is responsible for maximizing the value of Vattenfall's portfolio by optimizing, hedging and sourcing Vattenfall's assets and sales positions. The unit acts as Vattenfall's market contact for trading of electricity, emissions, fuels, freight and renewable energy certificates. We operate across Europe with more than 450 professionals working from Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.

In this role you will work on:

  • Analyzing and identifying areas of improvement within the company's business processes.
  • Develop, implement and maintain technical solutions to optimize operations.
  • Ensure high availability and performance of the company's IT systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem solving to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation of 24/7 systems.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into user-friendly, efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Participate in technical discussions and make decisions that affect the architecture and design of our applications.
  • Support employees in the use of new systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with different departments to understand their technical needs and deliver effective solutions.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of IT projects.
  • Document system configurations and changes.
  • Work closely with our suppliers and write requirement orders.
  • Participate in a 24/7 IT emergency response team to support our business critical applications.

Requirement specification

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant university education in IT, computer science, power systems, electrical engineering or similar.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, project management or system maintenance.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for developing both yourself and our business.
  • Experience working as an IT systems engineer or similar role.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams and contribute with innovative ideas.

Personal qualities:

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
  • Enthusiasm for keeping up to date with the latest technology trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing.
