About the role

Sweden has embarked on a historic transition and is facing a comprehensive electrification of society. To show our ambition to contribute to the energy transition and to continue to enable increased electrification of Sweden, we have a goal to distribute twice as much electricity in our electricity network by 2030 and to transmit electricity with 99.99% delivery reliability.

Do you want an exciting everyday life and work for a fossil-free future and make a real difference for Sweden to succeed in the energy transition? With us, you get to influence tomorrow's climate-smart society and create the electricity grid of the future.

We are now looking for a Maintenance engineer for local grids to join the Maintenance of Lines group.

We are responsible for the maintenance of Vattenfall's local and regional network lines throughout Sweden, and the group currently consists of 13 employees. In your role, you will be the contact person for maintenance towards our maintenance contractors, where you are responsible for ordering maintenance work and following up the results in the field. We offer a stimulating job where you get to use your technical expertise in a varied work environment, both in the field and in the office.

You will

  • Be responsible for local network maintenance (0.4-24kV) within your geographic maintenance area.
  • Financial responsibility for your maintenance area.
  • Conduct technical and financial follow-ups of contractors.
  • Evaluate, prioritize and order maintenance measures and reinvestments.
  • In the process, work with tasks and issues linked to our facilities.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have a technical education (upper secondary or post-secondary), preferably with a focus on electric power and have a few years of experience in the electric power industry. We are looking for you who may have started as a technician and then moved on to a processor, designer or other engineering role in the industry.

It is meritorious if you have worked with

  • Projecting / preparing local networks.
  • Project management in the construction of local area networks.
  • Contract inspection.
  • SAP, NIS (network information system) or Power BI.

We are looking for you who have an interest in driving and developing processes in the group's operations. You take responsibility and keep good structure for your tasks. You are solution-oriented and have the ability to make decisions on both technical and financial issues without losing focus on quality and safety. You enjoy a system-based approach and are not afraid to work in complex systems.

As the work involves many contacts both internally and externally, you are outgoing and do not fear contact with others, which requires good collaboration skills.
