About the role

Vattenfall Värme Uppsala is responsible for heating, cooling and steam production in Uppsala, Knivsta and Storvreta. We heat 95 percent of all properties in Uppsala's urban area, mainly through energy-recovered waste from households and industries as well as residual products from forests.

As a Technician in mechanics, you work with varied tasks in mechanical maintenance. Your area of responsibility involves maintenance of plants for electricity and heat production with tasks such as:

• troubleshooting, remedial and preventive maintenance with a focus on machine elements, including preparation of work tasks
• Work on improvements for increased operational reliability and problem solving in the event of operational disturbances.
• Conduct rounds for preventive maintenance and, if necessary, initiate maintenance plan
• Participate in the emergency response organization

The work is carried out on site at our plants. You will be part of a team of about 20 people consisting of maintenance engineers, mechanics, lubricators and vibration and bearing specialists. Collaboration takes place both within the own department and with the operating organization and hired contractors.

Requirement specification

• Completed high school diploma, preferably in technology.
• Experience working in the process, engineering or manufacturing industry with a focus on mechanical maintenance.
• Experience in maintenance of engines, machines, transmissions, pumps, valves, gearboxes, boilers and hydraulics.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, in speech and writing
• B-driving license

It is meritorious if you also have limited electrical authorization for connection and disconnection.
