About the role

Sweden has embarked on a historic transition and is facing an extensive electrification of society. To show our ambition to contribute to the energy transition and to continue to enable increased electrification of Sweden, we aim to distribute twice as much electricity in our electricity network by 2030 and to transmit electricity with 99.99% delivery reliability.

The role of Network Analyst

As a network company, Vattenfall Eldistribution is an important and driving player in the energy transition. Network Analysis LN belongs to the Network Optimization department, which is responsible for the capacity and dimensioning of the electricity network and power quality. The group consists of 24 people spread across the country from Luleå in the north to Trollhättan in the south.

In the new energy landscape, we are beginning to see the outlines of more solar cells, infrastructure for rechargeable electric cars, wind power, server halls and population densification in growth areas. This affects long-term grid planning and how we should build the grid.

We are now looking for experienced Network Analysts for local network planning with flexible placement in one of our locations Luleå, Umeå, Jokkmokk, Trollhättan, Gothenburg, Uppsala and Stockholm and surrounding areas.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the strategic/long term network development for a geographical area
  • Developing network solutions for the renewal of the existing electricity network and adaptation to the needs of society and regulatory requirements, for example regarding quality of supply
  • Carrying out network calculations and dimensioning for new construction and reconstruction of the distribution network
  • Carrying out technical and economic calculations for proposals for network changes
  • Carrying out risk and impact assessments in the distribution network
  • Participate in projects concerning major customer connections

Your skills will also be required in various in-house development projects.

Requirements specification

To be successful in the role, you will have a university degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with an interest in working with infrastructure issues. We would like to see that you have work experience from the electric power industry with tasks that have included network planning and investigations.

As a person, you are analytical and responsible with high drive. You are focused and a good problem solver in both technical and financial matters. You have the ability to concretize technical requirements and conditions into a profitable business. Cooperation and customer orientation are important success factors for you. You also find it easy to express yourself both orally and in writing in both Swedish and English.
