About the role

As part of the generational change, Svafo is now looking for an operations and maintenance technician for the management of the company's assets located at the Studsvik area about 25 km northeast of Nyköping.

Svafo's task is to take care of nuclear waste and facilities from early Swedish nuclear research in a safe and environmentally responsible way.

We offer you an exciting and responsible job as a maintenance technician at Svafo. You will be part of a team of approximately 13 people working with safety documentation, development, planning, operation and maintenance of Svafo's facilities at the Studsvik site. The group consists of a wide range of colleagues such as engineers, supervisors and technicians.

Duties

As an Operations and Maintenance Technician your main duties will be:

  • Carry out checks on plant and equipment
  • Plan and carry out inventory and checks on waste items, reloading if necessary
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs to plant and processes
  • Provide technical support to the operations and maintenance activities
  • Troubleshooting

Requirements

We are looking for you with a technical or equivalent education from high school, and who have experience in operations and maintenance issues. We believe that you have a broad understanding of various technical areas without having to be an expert in any way. If you also have knowledge/understanding of the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority's regulations, it is meritorious.

We hope that you are a prospective employee with commitment and good collaboration skills who work closely with other employees in Svafo's operations. You like problem solving of various kinds that may arise in the business and can work in a structured and independent manner, of course in interaction with your colleagues.

Fluent knowledge of Swedish is a requirement.
