About the role
Do you want to be part of developing the operations and maintenance department at VB Elnät and contribute to a fossil-free future?
Within VB Elnät, we are currently 23 employees and during the year we will become 29 employees who together accelerate our digital transformation and test and implement new technologies that contribute to increased delivery reliability and delivery quality for our customers. We are in a growth phase to meet our customers' needs and contribute to the energy transition and we are now looking for an Operations and Maintenance Manager.
Your tasks
As Operations and Maintenance Manager you will have the opportunity to lead the work in the operation and maintenance of our local and regional network with almost 27,000 electricity network customers where we are responsible for operation & control, personal and delivery security.
The Operations & Maintenance team is responsible for the operations center, maintenance work, electrical safety, metering, opto/communication and network planning. We are a client organization and the team consists of 11 employees who are all civil servants with a good mix of both experienced and new employees.
Both the unit, and the Operations and Maintenance Manager role, are technology-heavy where, for example, the design of technical guidelines and technology choices, planning and management of our resources are included. Our network consists of both local and regional networks ranging from 0.4-130kV. In addition to the role of Operations and Maintenance Manager , the position includes electrical installation and facility & property responsibility.
You report to the CEO of Västerbergslagens Elnät and are part of the management team. We are divided into three departments where the other departments consist of Project & Documentation and Customer & Market.
Opportunities & Challenges linked to the role
- Increased re-investment budget from historical level of approx. 60 MSEK to 100+ MSEK, we are proud of the current level of outages but see challenges with all planned outages going forward. Uninterrupted as a first choice is something we focus on and we work for expanded AMS work and e.g. utilization of mobile power plants.
- New types of customer agreements, such as conditional agreements with limited power output when the electricity network is most strained, require changed working methods and forecasts in the operations center where the industry is still looking for good solutions.
- The organization and several employees are relatively new and we are still shaping and developing the assignment of tasks and processes within the company.
- We have a lot of will and energy in both staff and company so help us drive the daily life and development in the right direction according to the business plan we have to meet the needs of our customers and employees.
Requirement specification
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have experience of working in a leading position in the electricity network and / or maintenance industry. It is meritorious if you have experience of both operational and strategic tasks.
There are relatively technical discussions and issues on a daily basis so you should have a good knowledge of an electrical network and its constituent parts and devices.
Much of the business involves collaboration with others and therefore you are easy to collaborate and thrive in a leading role. We value your ability to plan, organize and prioritize your work effectively. The role may involve changing circumstances, which requires you to be flexible and adaptable. As you interact with many different actors in the role, you need to be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
As a leader, you create trust and commitment, encourage feedback and share our principles of being active, positive, open and always putting safety first. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability where good leadership skills are prioritized.
