Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods and take advantage of digital opportunities. About the role

Vattenfall Vattenkraft, is now looking for an operations engineer with experience in hydropower production. The department consists of, Operating Engineers, Commissioning Managers, and Hydrologists. You will participate in projects and represent the production unit.

Examples of tasks

  • Development of Selective Plans, fault current calculations, relay protection settings, tripping conditions, fault clearance plans.
  • Functional requirement setting for major plant changes that affect personal and plant safety. Both requirement setting and review in accordance with our guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate and guide in troubleshooting and accident investigations
  • Root cause analysis in the event of disturbances
  • Lead commissioning work in the plants during renewals and major maintenance measures
  • Preparedness as Duty Engineer engineer (VHI) may be included


Requirements specification

Qualifications

We are looking for a person who works in a structured and methodical way and has a high safety mindset in terms of plant and personal safety. In pressured situations, he/she keeps calm and a realistic perspective and takes responsibility for ensuring systematics and quality. As the work involves many contact surfaces, it is important that you have good cooperation and communication skills. You have a good command of Swedish and English in speech and writing. B-driving license is a prerequisite as travel in the service occurs.

  • Electrical power engineering education at post-secondary level and experience of several years of work experience.
  • Good computer skills
  • ESA training

It is meritorious if you have experience in training within ESA,
