We are now looking for another Power system specialist focusing on regional networks in Plant Development for us at Vattenfall Eldistribution. The Plant Development unit within Asset Management currently consists of 16 employees with high technical competence and we need more! Vattenfall Eldistribution is facing major investment increases in the coming years and it is important to develop our facilities so that they can be built resource- and cost-efficiently while being climate sustainable and robust. Plant development contributes to developing the electricity grid in line with the development of society and we are responsible for, among other things, technology development pilots, technical review of investment projects and technical governing documents. Our department is characterized by high competence, will and energy. We have full focus on the mission and also make sure to have fun at work.

As a Power System Specialist Plant Development Regional Network, the main task is to:

  • Drive, coordinate and participate in development initiatives, both technical pilots and investigations
  • Identify plant technology development areas and propose technical studies within the framework of the technology development portfolio
  • Ensure implementation of developed technologies through evaluation, inclusion in plant design documents, training and experience feedback
  • Translate results from technical development projects and investigations into requirements in technical documents and communicate, anchor and implement changed requirements to internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop, create and manage governing documents, technical guidelines and requirement specifications
  • Monitor technical plant development nationally and internationally in collaboration with the organization
  • Participate in external and internal technical working groups regarding plant design

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have:

  • Civil engineering degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, engineering physics or mechanical engineering, preferably with a specialization in electrical power or energy technology. Equivalent competence can be acquired in another way that we consider equivalent
  • Several years of work experience in the electric power industry with a focus on regional or national networks
  • Interest and experience in working with technology development
  • Understanding of the structure and function of the electricity network and knowing what is required to achieve a high level of supply and personal safety
  • Knowledge of stations and overhead lines and their components such as switchgear, power transformers, control equipment and poles
  • Ability to take into account both technical and economic aspects in the short and long term and find solutions that ensure both regulatory requirements and customer needs
  • Can apply the laws, requirements and guidelines of the electricity industry
  • Easy to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English

More advantageous is if you have:

  • Specialist knowledge in primary and secondary equipment, such as switchgear, transformers, relay protection and measuring instruments
  • Several years of experience in technology development projects, as a specialist and/or project manager
  • Extensive experience in formulating and concretizing technical requirements and interpreting standards and regulations
  • Very good knowledge of the high voltage regulations, ESA and appropriate IEC standards
  • Have been involved in industry-wide forums such as CIGRÈ, SEK or EBR
  • Driving license B

You are not afraid to dive into different problems and complex issues, and you adapt quickly to new and challenging situations. We also look for you to have good verbal skills and a high level of well-developed interpersonal skills as you participate in different projects and work with different stakeholders. With advantage one of our offices in Solna, Trollhättan or Umeå but also placement in Luleå, Västerås, Uppsala, Gothenburg or Linköping can be discussed. Travel may occur in the service.
