We at Vattenfall Eldistribution AB are looking for you who have a passion for electric power and want to work at the forefront of the technical development of our smart plants. As a Power System Specialist with us, we promise that you will be challenged in exciting and complex issues.

The Project Engineering department needs to be strengthened with a specialist in primary high-voltage devices with a main focus on switchgear, air and gas insulated switchgear. The group is responsible for ensuring technical content in the planning and implementation of plant investments and provides specialist plant engineering support to the business. We translate plant strategies, operating experience and development projects into actual standardized solutions that are implemented in the business. Unleash your superpowers with us!

As a Technical Specialist, your main responsibility is to support the investment business, which means acting as a technical resource in our projects. Your main tasks will be the following:

  • Ensuring the quality of the new facilities in collaboration with the project manager.
  • Setting requirements for plant design, both overall and project-specific.
  • reviewing technical design and checking the design
  • Participate in the development of documents for plant design, e.g. Vattenfall's Technical Guidelines (VTR).
  • Ensure that the plant meets the requirements of the technical specification and Vattenfall Technical Guidelines.
  • Participate in tender evaluation for large projects regarding primary equipment issues
  • Participate in discussions with suppliers, both overall and in connection with project deliveries
  • Interact with other departments on projects
  • Conduct technical investigations linked to projects.
  • Drive technical development within own area of expertise.

Some travel is included in the position, both to suppliers and to the projects you are currently working on.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have:

  • An engineering degree in electrical power at university or college level. Alternatively, you have acquired your skills through industry experience and successive trainings in the electrical power industry.
  • Solid experience in electric power issues and familiarity with the structure and functioning of the electricity grid.
  • have in-depth knowledge and experience of working with switchgear, air and gas insulated switchgear
  • Have good knowledge of high voltage regulations/ESA/Norms/Technical guidelines.
  • Easy to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English.
  • Driving license class B.

You find it easy to communicate and cooperate with others as you are largely included as a resource in larger project groups.

We see it as a merit if you have:

Experience of working on or maintaining other primary equipment, such as power transformers and reactors.Knowledge of construction law (AB04 and ABT06)
