Come and work with us in the control room, the heart of our nuclear power plants. We at Forsmark are working together for fossil freedom and to reach our goal we need committed employees who want to develop with us. We offer you a one-year paid training, within the framework of the process operator program.

The position and our training program are aimed at both those who have a few years of work experience or those who are newly graduated in the field of technology and engineering.

About the job

If you become a process operator with us, your employment will begin with a comprehensive twelve-month long operational and process-oriented internal training aimed at Forsmark's plant. After the training, you will be part of a shift team responsible for the operational management and supervision of the Forsmark plant, where you together ensure that the plant produces electricity safely. You will learn both the theoretical basics and follow a shift team for practical elements at the plant.

Your tasks as a process operator include:

  • Process monitoring from the local control room
  • Running turbine and reactor systems
  • Performing periodic tests of turbine and reactor systems
  • Performing shutdowns and resets of system parts
  • Preparing and updating operating instructions
  • Participating in training and retraining

We are looking for you who:

Have an interest in technology or science. Are you attracted by a deeper understanding of different process flows? Then we are looking for you!

As you will be working closely with different positions in your shift team, it is important that you can build good relationships and see cooperation as a success factor. As the nature of the work can be fast-paced and at times stressful, it is important that you are able to remain calm and focused on the task at hand. During some shifts, the pace can also be calmer, we therefore see that you have the ability to identify what needs to be done, grab the task and drive the work forward.

Qualifications:

  • High school education from technical or scientific high school or graduate by June 2025. Alternatively, you have the equivalent level of education through other studies.
  • B-driving license, or in the process of obtaining a B-driving license
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech, writing and reading comprehension
  • All applicants for the position must complete a skills test via AlvaLabs (link sent out in connection with your application)

Attach your grades in your application. We would like to see that you have passed grades in the following upper secondary courses or equivalent:

  • Chemistry A, Physics B, Mathematics D (according to the old course system)
  • Chemistry 1, Physics 2, Mathematics 3c (according to the new course system)

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Technical education, preferably with a focus on power and heat engineering, alternatively electrical power, operating engineer or marine engineer
  • Work experience from, for example, the power and heating industry, shipping, paper and process industry
  • Experience of shift work

Development opportunities

If you want to develop, there are great opportunities. You can train internally to become a turbine operator, reactor operator, and be authorized to take on the role of deputy shift manager and finally shift manager.For each new role, you undergo additional theoretical and practical training.

Location: Forsmark

You need to be able to get to the location at all times of the shift, even when public transportation is not available.

Terms of employment: Probationary employment for the first 6 months, then permanent employment. Basic salary during the study period, in case of shift work, Ob supplement will be added. Health tests will be carried out before employment, including allergies, asthma, eczema.

Access: To gain a deeper understanding of the business and the service, it is good if you can start your employment already during the summer of 2025, the latest start date is at the start of training in the fall of 2025.
