Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future.Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. We are now looking for a Project Controller!

Vattenfall Vattenkraft is facing exciting changes and development of working methods linked to control and follow-up. As a Project Controller, you will be one of the key people in our work!

You will work in the area of investment and project implementation. This means a broad work area with everything from follow-up, deviation management, problem solving and improvement initiatives. The work is creative, challenging and educational! You will be part of the Business Development & Control unit where we are currently 12 colleagues, four of whom work as Controllers.

As Project Controller you will focus on:

  • Support in various investment projects and work with project finances
  • Handling ad hoc business cases/requests related to projects.

You will act at the interface of projects and finance by:

  • Guiding and supporting project managers in financial and cost management
  • Responsible for reconciliation and follow-up as well as preparing financial reports regarding, among other things, outcomes and forecasts for the projects
  • Improving and participating in the financial commissioning process
  • Review investment decisions
  • Identify, propose and drive actions to improve governance and performance.


Requirements specification

  • Bachelor's degree, three years of university education in economics or equivalent professional qualification
  • Five years of relevant work experience as a controller, qualified economist or similar
  • Very good system knowledge, you have experience with SAP, MS Office and Power BI
  • Experience of working with areas such as financial accounting, risk management, project administration, process work can be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, in speech and writing and driving license (B).

To thrive in the role, you need to be analytical, educational, responsible and thorough. You work in a businesslike, results-oriented way and have your customers in focus. The work involves a lot of contacts, especially within Vattenfall Vattenkraft, it is important that you are a communicative and service-oriented person with good collaboration skills.
