Company description

Kärnkraftsäkerhet och Utbildning AB, KSU, with about 180 employees, is part of the Vattenfall Group. We ensure the competence of the Swedish nuclear power plants' personnel through both theoretical education and training in full-scale simulators. The company is in development and faces a future full of opportunities to ensure competence for long-term and new nuclear power operations. Operations are conducted from our head office in Nyköping and from our training facilities in Forsmark, Oskarshamn and Ringhals. You are entering an exciting time and will have the opportunity to be an important cog in developing KSU and contributing to fossil-free and competence for the nuclear power of the future.

About the role

Do you want to be part of the journey towards a fossil-free society with us? We at Vattenfall have the goal that we and our customers will be able to operate and live without fossil fuels within a generation.

We are now looking for a Project Manager for the Technology unit at KSU, Nuclear Safety and Education AB.

About the Job

The Technology unit is led by the Head of Technology and currently has about 50 engineers, technicians and project managers. The unit is responsible for ensuring that KSU's simulators can be used for training, testing, verification and validation. We work to ensure the availability of existing simulator systems and that they are equivalent to the reference system. Our unit implements agreed changes and modifications to the simulators and is responsible for operating, maintaining and developing the simulators and their systems and software. We also operate KSU's IT infrastructure, including PCs, networks, telephony and IT security.

Project activities in the Technology unit are extensive due to the modernizations being carried out at the nuclear power plants. This means that new technology is continuously introduced in the simulators, which creates many interesting tasks. Operations are conducted from our head office in Nyköping and from our training facilities with simulators located in close proximity to the nuclear power plants in Forsmark, Ringhals and Oskarshamn.

Your duties as Project Manager

As Project Manager, you report directly to the Head of Technology. You are responsible for managing, leading and coordinating activities, project members and functions within projects according to the KSU project model. You ensure that projects are established, implemented and completed according to the given model, and that project goals and deliverables correspond to agreed project specifications.

You will have access to allocated resources and run projects in the range of SEK 5-50 million. The projects are coordinated with line operations at KSU and, where appropriate, with external project managers at nuclear power plants and with suppliers.

The location for the position is primarily Nyköping, with the office centrally located near the train station, alternatively at one of KSU's local offices in Forsmark or Oskarshamn. At KSU, we work flexibly with good opportunities for remote work.

The role involves travel to our local offices and occasional trips to suppliers within and outside the country.

Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate and manage projects according to KSU:s project model, and ensure that project objectives are met within the given framework
  • Responsible for project schedule and budget
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and report project status to relevant parties
  • Engage and motivate project members while coordinating project elements and milestones
  • Analyze and manage risks to ensure projects deliver expected benefits
