Business Unit (BU) Fuel, Engineering & Projects is a business unit of about 350 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that supplies nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services for most of Vattenfall's operations. This includes activities such as project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments. The focus of the Fuel, Engineering & Projects business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected key technical disciplines. We work actively with continuous improvement initiatives and development of our models, where our work and expertise create great value for Vattenfall and its initiatives.

About the role

We are looking for several experienced project managers. We are looking for you with a natural drive, who are good at creating high-performance teams and like to work with development and complex challenging projects. We offer you exciting and varied assignments in the energy industry, which means a great variety in the type of assignments and technical areas ranging from electric power projects, instrumentation and control equipment, mechanical and process assignments, new and remodeling of buildings. The size of the assignments varies from smaller assignments with a dozen project members, to large assignments with around fifty project members and several suppliers involved. There are great opportunities to match your skills with the right type of assignment.

As a project manager, you are responsible for leading cross-functional project teams, defining clear requirements, objectives and scope for the team, and working actively to ensure that projects are delivered within the agreed time, cost and quality. Requirements

We are looking for you who have an understanding of the project process and have the ability to drive and lead different types of projects. As a person, you are a team player who enables collaboration between different competencies and organizations. You are a good communicator at all levels, both internally and externally. You have an ability to build trust and engage others. You are business-minded, able to see the big picture and have a natural focus on results. You have a structured approach that allows you to manage change, set priorities and adapt to new conditions.

  • We are looking for driven project managers with at least five years of experience in project management
  • A civil engineer or equivalent academic education in a relevant field is desirable
  • You have good experience in managing project budgets and resource planning
  • You can work both effectively individually and in teams
  • Your role will require good communication with team members, customers and other stakeholders
  • We are looking for you with strong leadership skills that can motivate and lead the team towards the project goals
  • Your experience in implementing project management tools will be very helpful
  • You should have strong analytical skills and be able to develop strategies to manage complex projects
  • Experience in nuclear operations is a plus
  • Certification according to PMI, IPMA or similar is meritorious
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing
  • You have a B-driving license

Location: Solna, Forsmark, Uppsala or Gävle. Travel is included as a natural part of the service, but we actively work with technical aids to reduce these. However, expect 2-3 days in Forsmark as many of the projects are conducted there. Of course, depending on the project, there is also the possibility of working from home.
