Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods and take advantage of digital opportunities.
About the role
Hydro power will be provided with modern environmental conditions - do you want to be part of the journey? According to current legislation, all hydropower plants and regulation dams used to produce hydropower electricity must have modern environmental conditions.
The national plan for reviewing hydropower (NAP) means that hydropower operations in Sweden are provided with modern environmental conditions. This means, among other things, that the permits of the operations must be provided with the conditions necessary for the quality of the waters affected by the operations to meet the requirements of the Environmental Code. The operator must apply for an environmental assessment if the activity lacks modern environmental conditions.
We are now recruiting a project manager who will have a key role in our work to provide Vattenfall Hydropower's power plants and regulation dams with modern environmental conditions. The work is carried out in project form ("NAP project"). The NAP project includes the phases of preparation, collaboration, environmental investigations, feasibility studies, application, court review, implementation and follow-up.
These are examples of responsibilities/tasks:
Travel in the service is occurring, you travel, among other things, to the relevant plants and to participate in various project and collaboration meetings.
You will belong to our environmental department, which is part of the Technology unit, which is responsible for Vattenfall Vattenkraft's technology management, plant management, environment and dam safety.
Requirements
You have a relevant university or college education and experience of working with environmental and permit issues under the Environmental Code. You also have experience of managing projects, hydropower and the Water Framework Directive.
The work involves interaction with many stakeholders. You are confident in your role, clear and good at communicating and collaborating.
