Company description

Forsmark nuclear power plant is one of the largest electricity producers in Sweden and we produce one sixth of the electricity consumed in Sweden. Nuclear electricity has a very low fossil footprint and is a stable and weather-independent power source. Since 1980, our three production plants have delivered climate-smart electricity every day, all year round.

About the role

Do you want to contribute to fossil-free energy production? Now you have the opportunity to do so at Forsmarks Kraftgrupp AB. We are working together to make Sweden fossil-free within a generation. To achieve our goal, we need committed employees who want to work at one of Sweden's largest electricity producers and at the same time contribute to a better climate on our planet.

Now we are looking for group managers for operational radiation protection and radiation safety.

About the job

The NAO unit is responsible for operational radiation protection in Forsmark and consists of four groups, NAOD, NAOR, NAOS and NAOT. The NAOS and NAOR groups work with operational radiation protection and radiation safety, continuously monitoring the radiological status of our facilities with regard to dose rate and contamination. The teams support the daily operations with radiological knowledge as they are present during corrective and preventive maintenance. The groups are responsible for everything from practical radiation protection work to engineering work to support other groups within the unit. This also means that the group has a wide variety of employees with different backgrounds and experience.

The main responsibilities of the groups include:

  • Operational radiation protection work
  • Preparation of work in the facilities
  • Control of the radiological environment of the facilities
  • Dose planning

As group manager, you are responsible for the group's overall delivery. You ensure that there are conditions for employees to take their responsibilities and follow up that they succeed in doing so. You plan and hold weekly meetings, are part of the unit's management team and in this way you also work for the unit's development.

Being a group manager for this group provides good insights into the entire subject area of radiology and that you will work with many professional groups such as maintenance staff and production staff. Within your own area of responsibility, there is the opportunity to develop both in breadth and depth. You will work in a team where the staff have deep theoretical knowledge and also broad experience. This helps you to create a solid foundation for continuing within the unit or in other positions within the company.

Requirements

We are looking for you who are a university engineer / civil engineer or have acquired other experience that we consider relevant. It is an advantage if you have worked with nuclear issues before, especially radiation protection.

We also attach great importance to your personal qualities. As the group works with methods for the entire company, it is important that you have effective leadership and can support your employees in collaboration with groups and departments. We believe that you have the ability to support and engage your team members, and to be sensitive to each person's potential. You also invite your employees to come up with ideas that can develop the business.

Good knowledge of Swedish and English is a requirement.
