Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 600 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that trains personnel in Swedish nuclear power, delivers nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, Group staffs and stakeholders. This includes activities such as development and delivery of training, project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments.

We work actively with continuous improvement initiatives and development of our models, where our work and competence creates great value for Vattenfall and its investments.

We work closely and in some cases fully integrated with other Business Units within the Vattenfall Group. We also create external international business where we see that it benefits our strategic direction. About us

Within the Vattenfall Power Solutions Business Unit, the Decommissioning Expert Center (DEC) department is responsible for providing expertise to the decommissioning projects of Vattenfall's nuclear facilities. DEC consists of three units in the competence areas Radiology, Waste Management and Decommissioning Optimization. Together we pave the way for a safe, cost-effective and sustainable decommissioning of Vattenfall's nuclear facilities.

At DEC, we are currently working to expand our assignments and also broaden our portfolio with new assignments. This means that in the future we believe we can offer employees more varied tasks that are not limited to decommissioning activities, although decommissioning activities will continue to be our primary and our most important mission into the 2030s.

The position is part of the Radiology unit, GP-FR.

About the job

The Radiology unit currently consists of 10 employees with a good spread in age, gender, ethnicity and experience. The employees are currently distributed in assignments between our collaboration partners, Ågestaverket and Ringhals nuclear power plant.

You will be offered varied tasks in a team with different skills. Cooperation takes place with colleagues within your own unit and with colleagues from the other units within DEC and also with other units within VPS, as well as with colleagues from our collaboration partners.

Examples of tasks are:

  • Radiological surveys (RKL)
  • Method development
  • Development of nuclide vectors
  • Dose rate measurements
  • Interpretation and evaluation of regulatory requirements
  • Review and documentation of waste collection
  • Clearance of land and buildings

Requirements specification

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree (university level) or Master's level (Bachelor or Master of Science) in a relevant field such as radiophysics, nuclear chemistry, radiation physics or hospital physics
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in both Swedish and English
  • Good computer skills
