Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future.Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. Now we are looking for a security officer - physical protection

You will be part of a team of security officers where we support each other in leading, developing, coordinating and controlling hydropower security work. We are based in several locations in Sweden, this position can be located in Luleå, Storuman or Umeå.

Here are examples of your responsibilities and tasks as a security officer - physical protection:

  • Handle, analyze and propose changes/improvements to physical protection for Vattenfall's hydropower plants
  • Develop instructions, interpret and work with internal and legal requirements related to physical protection
  • Handle, investigate and document security incidents
  • Participate in work with risk and vulnerability analyses and continuity plans
  • Authority contacts and reporting in the above areas.

You will also work with general supporting tasks in safety, for example, interpreting and introducing (new) requirements in hydropower processes and working methods and interaction with other operators.

Our safety work is based on being one step ahead and actively working with business intelligence, statistics and underlying analyzes. As a security officer, you are very important for hydropower security work, the threat picture for the energy industry is changing and the legislation clarifies the requirements for the protection of our operations.


Requirement specification

We are looking for you with post-secondary education in security, or you have acquired equivalent competence through relevant work experience.

You have experience working with physical protection, area protection, interpretation of legal security requirements and risk and vulnerability assessments. It is an advantage if you have worked in the energy industry or similar socially important and security-sensitive activities.

As a security officer, you act responsibly with integrity in accordance with decisions taken. You are proactive, analytical and able to break down complex issues. You are used to organizing and prioritizing your work in an independent, results-oriented and efficient manner.

The work involves many contacts and requires good knowledge of Swedish and English (spoken and written). As travel to our facilities occurs, it is a requirement that you have a B-driving license.
