Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future.Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. We are now looking for a safety officer - strategic safety work

You will be part of a team of safety officers where we support each other in leading, developing, coordinating and controlling hydropower safety work. We are based in several locations in Sweden, this position can be located in Luleå, Storuman, Umeå or Solna.

As a Safety Officer - Strategic Safety Work, you will focus on:

  • Systematic safety work, develop and implement analyses and plans in collaboration with hydropower production, maintenance and project operations and colleagues in safety
  • Implement new and analyze compliance with internal and legal requirements
  • Develop and participate in processes for systematic control of requirements, both by internal operations and suppliers.

You will also work with general support tasks in security, for example, interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements in our processes and working methods, contacts with authorities and collaboration with other operators in areas such as security awareness, incident management and total defense planning.

Our security work is based on being one step ahead and that we actively work with business intelligence, statistics and underlying analyzes. As a security officer, you are very important for hydropower security work, the threat picture for the energy industry is changing and the legislation clarifies the requirements for the protection of our operations.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who thrive in a role with many contact areas where you are given the opportunity to work with improvements and changes from a holistic perspective.

You have experience of working with:

  • Governing processes and systematic security work
  • Security protection analyses and security protection plans
  • Implementation and follow-up of security requirements, preferably in larger and national organizations
  • Authority contacts, investigations and development of policy documents.

You have post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent education/experience. Experience in the energy industry and control and audit activities may be an advantage.

As a safety officer, you act responsibly with integrity in accordance with decisions taken. You are structured, analytical and thrive in a specialist role where you can also use your leadership and coordination skills. You are used to organizing and prioritizing your work in an independent, result-oriented and efficient way.

The work involves many contacts and requires good knowledge of Swedish and English (spoken and written). As travel to our facilities occurs, it is a requirement that you have a B driving license.
