At Ringhals, we are constantly working to develop our business and our way of working to be able to meet the demands that customers and the outside world place on us, which is why we see the individual's development as a major part of the company's future. About the role

The Process Analysis group constitutes Ringhals' cutting-edge expertise in flow technology, the power & heat process and plant dynamics and is part of the Plant Design unit. The main tasks of the group are to perform different types of calculations and analyses and to manage and develop analysis tools and simulation models for the purpose. We are responsible for evaluating and monitoring the adequacy of design margins over time. We also have the technical responsibility for the overall impact on the plant design in the event of plant changes that affect the process systems. Examples of tasks within the group are to perform analyses/calculations/simulations on everything from individual components (valves, pumps, vvx, regulators) to analyzing entire functional chains.

The Power Analysis group constitutes Ringhals' cutting-edge competence in electric power analysis and is responsible for the design of the plant's electric power system. The main task of the group is to perform various types of static and dynamic calculations and to manage and develop analysis tools and simulation models for the purpose. Examples of tasks within the group are interaction between the main grid and power plants, relay protection coordination, and calculations/simulations of the nuclear power units' internal local power networks with components such as generators, transformers, large motors, power electronics, etc.

The summer job will include tasks in Matlab/Simulink (or python) programming and problem solving. Process and electrical systems are closely linked in the plant, but in simulation environments the systems are handled separately. The summer job will involve investigating the possibility of integrating process and electrical systems to enable Ringhals to study how phenomena occurring in one of the systems affect the other. Cooperation between several departments is a prerequisite for performing the tasks.

The summer job will provide you with personal development and valuable experience for your future career. Furthermore, you will also be given insight into what it is like to work at such a large company as Vattenfall. You will use your theoretical knowledge to solve highly topical technical problems in the field of electric power.
