The automation area is growing rapidly and Vattenfall Eldistribution is installing more and more automation in the electricity grid. In addition to reinvestment needs of obsolete equipment, there are strong drivers through increased demands for fewer and shorter power outages and enablers for further digitalization. The OT & Automation group is responsible for the operation and management of automation equipment, such as RTUs, HMIs and switches, throughout its lifecycle and actively works as a technical requirements engineer in the plant investment projects.


As a System Specialist in the OT & Automation group, you will work at the interface between IT and electrical power/control plant. You will collaborate with our investment projects to guide the design of communication and remote control solutions for new construction of substations in Sweden. You will also participate in the management of automation equipment in our electricity network.


Example of tasks:

  • Participate and represent the group in investment projects in the construction of new substations, by acting as a requirement setter for communication and remote control solutions.
  • Management and life cycle management of automation equipment.
  • Testing and development of automation functions and technical solutions.
  • Requirement and review of technical solutions in procurement against material suppliers.
  • Collaborate with development departments both internally and externally to develop new technical solutions.
  • Further develop our management process and collaborate with other departments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who:

  • Have post-secondary education, preferably at university engineer level with a focus on automation, electricity / telecommunications, data communication and networks, IT / OT. For example, Electrical Engineer, Automation Engineer, Computer Engineering or equivalent knowledge through previous experience.
  • Master Swedish and English unhindered both in speech and writing.
  • Have a B driving license.

It is meritorious if you:

  • Have knowledge and experience from working with remote control terminals (RTUs), HMIs, PLC programming, switches, routers, networks and associated management.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering, power systems, process automation, IEC 61850, IP-based communication solutions or project management.

Furthermore, we believe that you are unpretentious and responsible in your own work.

A requirement is that you should have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

Additional Information

Location: Trollhättan, Solna, Västerås, Linköping or Uppsala. Travel in the service occurs, mainly based around the location.
